Lexique immatriculation : Barré rouge

Le barré rouge est le nom donné à la notice descriptive d’un véhicule à moteur. Cette appellation prend d’ailleurs son origine dans la barre rouge qui raye le document. Le barré rouge concerne tous les types de véhicules que ce soit une voiture, un camion, une moto, un engin agricole ou une remorque, etc. Il s’agit d’un document d’homologation constitué de plusieurs parties et de plusieurs pages. La première partie est une description générale du véhicule comprenant, entre autres, des informations concernant le constructeur, la carrosserie et le moteur, mais également sur les parties mécaniques. À la fin se trouve le Certificat de conformité visé par le constructeur. Le barré rouge est obligatoire pour l’immatriculation d’un véhicule neuf.
